General Research Information
The Center for Campaign Leadership will sponsor and conduct original
interdisciplinary research on political campaigns, which draws on both
empirical and normative scholarship. In addition to administering surveys
and conducting focus groups that will assess the public's attitudes
about campaign practices, scholars affiliated with the CCL, who specialize
in ethics and democratic theory, will develop a rigorous analytic framework
for thinking about the ethical issues that arise in modern campaigns.
It is the hope of CCL that this work will spur a new scholarly literature
on campaign ethics. We also intend to use the results of this research
to develop the curriculum for our training seminars.
