Shanto Iyengar,
Professor, Communication and Political Science and
Director, Political Communication Lab, Stanford University.

Shanto Iyengar is the Harry and Norman Chandler Professor of Communication and Professor of Political Science at Stanford University. He teaches courses in the areas of political communication and mass media effects and is the director of the Political Communication Lab. His research has been published in several journals including American Political Science Review, Communication Research, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, and Public Opinion Quarterly. Iyengar received his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Iowa. He was awarded a National Institute of Mental Health postdoctoral training fellowship in 1982 to study social psychology at Yale University. Prior to joining the Stanford University faculty, Iyengar taught at the University of California, Los Angeles.
